REVIEW: L'oreal Lumi Maqiue foundation.

I have never heard of many people talking about the L'oreal lumi magique. Everyone seems to love the L'oreal true match which is easy to see why as there are far more shades, it is cheaper & has a semi matte finish which alot of people like.

The lumi seems to always get neglected but I can't see why as it is such a beautiful foundation for a dry skin or combination skin type. If you are oily I would stick the the regular True match foundation instead however.

The foundation is a light to medium coverage & gives the most gorgeous glow, it actually reminded me of the glow you get from the Charlotte tilbury light wonder glow foundation expect it has a fuller coverage & its less than half of the price.

As always I use my Nima flat top kabuki brush to apply this foundation. It is a light to medium coverage but doesn't feel heavy on the skin. I wear the shade W5 in the foundation but I can tell now that coming into winter I might have to opt for the lighter shade.

The foundation formula itself is beautiful, but I do have negatives when it comes to this.
One thing been the lack of colour choices. There are only five shades in this foundation. I feel my prefect shade would be a W4..unfortunately that shade doesn't exist.  I would mix between the W3 and W5 but I just feel I shouldn't have to do that.

Other than that I can't give out about this foundation, It lasts very well, it feels beautiful on the skin & it makes the skin look like it has been lit from within.

So would I buy this foundation again?
100% I would repurchase this foundation It is the prefect dewy finish foundation for a girl on a budget.

As always I hope you enjoyed this post,

REVIEW: MAC face & body foundation.

Wearing face & body foundation.

For years the only foundation I used was the Pro long wear foundation by MAC. Starting up this Blog & changes in my skins needs & wants made me venture out to try out different foundations. The prolong wear foundation is a very long lasting foundation for me it doesn't move all day. However it is a medium to full coverage & you can feel it on your skin. The feeling on my skin didn't bother me so much but I never felt I needed the full coverage it gave, but I didn't want to compromise how long lasting it was on the skin.

For the last year I have been mixing the Pro longwear foundation with strobe cream to change the semi matte finish to a sheer glowly finish. But then friend told me about how she loves her Face & body foundation by MAC for everyday, she claimed that it was really sheer coverage but lasted on her skin all day. So I had to try it out.

What did I think of it?
This foundation is the prefect everyday foundation.
I love it. It just glides on the skin leaving a gorgeous natural dewy finish. This foundation goes from very sheer coverage to medium coverage depending on how you build it & what brush you use to apply. It is very easy just to give the skin a flawless tint of colour using a stippling brush, or build it up to a medium coverage using a flat topped kabuki brush and pressing it onto the skin. It gives the skin a slightly dewy finish which I have been loving lately without it looking sweaty. I have dry skin so I don't set this foundation with a powder but If you are oily I would recommend setting this foundation with a powder especially in the places you would commonly get oily through out the day.

Does it last all day?
Yes, I think the foundation is very long lasting I don't usually have much issues with foundation lasting however.  With this foundation I don't even have to use a primer or set it with a powder & it lasts all day for me. I will still use my prolong wear foundation on nights out, & on really long  busy days I will mix a drop of my pro long wear foundation in with this foundation mainly for that little bit more coverage & lasting power.

Who will love this foundation?
  • Dry to normal skinned people will love this foundation
  • People who want a 'their skin but better' look will love this foundation.
  • Its a great one for a makeup artist to have in their kit for mixing with other foundations.
  • Someone looking for their first foundation.
  • Someone who wants a glow from their skin.

Let me know what you think of this foundation yourself.

REVIEW: Zoeva Cocoa Blend eyeshadow pallet.

Zoeva brushes have such a high repetition in the beauty world with many users comparing them to top brands like MAC, but for a quarter of the price.

So I was really intrigued when I found out they have their own range of eye shadow pallets. I was even more intrigued when I found out how cheap they where at €17. Thats not even €2 an eye shadow! My friend had got it & told me I needed it in my life & I am so glad she did.

This pallet is amazing!

It includes 10 beautifully warm shades. 7 with glitter & 3 matte ones.

This pallet is just the prefect warm toned pallet. Great for travelling as it is the only pallet you would need to complete tons of warm eye looks from natural to full on smokey!
A lot of the time with pallets you can't do a full eye but with this pallet this possibilities are endless.

As you can see from the below swatches the colours are highly pigmented blowing most other brands out of the water. They are also so easy to blend. I love every shade in the pallet which is hard to find with pallets.

I love using the white/cream colour in this pallet as a base to blend out the rest of my shadows & to give them more intensity. I can't say anything bad about this pallet. It is a must have & would be prefect for someone starting up a makeup collection. I am definitely going to be investing in their other pallets which have different shade themes.

I honestly love everything about this pallet, from the shadows to the packaging its just gorgeous. I would have easily payed more for this pallet because I think it would still be worth every penny. I highly recommend this pallet, I promise you it wont disappoint.

I got mine from the Zoeva website itself.
https://www.zoeva-shop.de/'
It was €17 & packaging was €5, so €22 altogether with a PayPal option.
You can also get it from Beautybay.com where it is €22 with free delivery but no paypal option.
Obviously they are the same price, but if you where to be buying more than one pallet it would work out cheaper on Zoeva.

Enjoy, & let me know if you have this pallet what are your thoughts on it?

What is our breakouts trying to tell us?

This post is to shed a little light on what our breakouts mean.

Why do we breakout? & what is our bodies trying to tell us?

This is in noway related to acne suffers as that is a completely a different topic altogether. This post is just to help people understand there skin a little better,

(1)The chin: Hormonal area.

If your anything like me this part of my face works like clock work. Once a month I can always rely on that big red spot on my chin like a little alarm letting me know of my womanly functions haha. This area of the face is all linked with our hormones. If you are constantly breaking out here & not just the time of the month it would be a good thing to get your hormone balance checked also making sure your ovaries are running smoothly. Other than that its just another thing on the long list of why it sucks to be a girl. Evening primrose tablets are a good way of helping to balance hormones.

(2)Forehead: Sleep deprived
Break outs here are nearly always linked to ether stress or lack of sleep. The term beauty sleep really does apply here make sure your getting eight hours of sleep a night.

(3) Temples: Processed food.

Break outs here can be linked with eating a lot of high fat foods such as avocados or junk food which is highly processed.  Try cut down on a high fat diet by eating foods such as cucumber & melon.

(4) Between eyebrows: Toxins.

This can be a sign of toxins in the body. Toxins from food or alcohol, the best thing to do is drink plenty or water, eat foods like blueberries which are a antioxidant too flush out all the bad toxins.

(5) Nose: Blood pressure.
Its not very common but a break out on the nose can be a sign or a change in your blood pressure. If you are feeling any other symptoms such as dizziness it would be good to get your blood pressure checked.

(6) Lips: Lack of vitamins.
Break outs on the lips & cold sores is a very big sign that you are lacking in Vitamin B.  Lysine is the best vitamin to take for this or just regular vitamin B.

(7) Cheeks: Respiratory/Acne.
This is the most common place to suffer with acne, but that is not always the case sometimes it can be to do with your lungs & what you are breathing in weather it is just air pollution or smoking it is something to think about.

My travels: Egypt , Sharm el sheik.

This is just a little short & sweet blog post on my travels to Egypt, I dont want to bore you guys with lots of details but if you have any questions feel free to ask me.

I was so excited to book Egypt. A place where I had never travelled before. Then after the tragic Tunisia attack in June, I felt very apprehensive about travelling. Anyone who I told, I was going to Egypt all had the same thing to say..'are you not nervous?

I was nervous, we confronted the travel agent who we had booked with in Thompson & they said there was no issued warning in Egypt, that there was no need to have a fear.

So we departed on the 13th of august from dublin & flew straight into Sharm. The journey took five & a half hours in total on the plane. When we got to the airport luckily our hotel 'Experience St.George homestay' was only twenty minutes away.

Hotel:
We went all inclusive which was highly recommended to us by the travel agent as the hotels can be secluded. The food was okay, nothing special. I had ether chips & pasta everyday unless we eat out. Their is an English pub next door to the hotel which had music a lot from our hotel would go there. The staff where the loveliest staff you could ever meet in a hotel! They went out of their way to make you feel at home. The place itself was gorgeous two large swimming pools & two kids pools. One of the pools had great music & activities, while the other was known as they quite pool/chill pool. It had its own spa where we got the most gorgeous coffee & coconut body scrub & wrap. Followed by a full body massage & use of the spa facilities.

The hotel also has its own private beach. It was lovely with lots of water activities and boats trips. There was also camel rides which was so amazing to see a real camel they are hugeeee.

Sunset cruise:

This is a must do! It made my holiday you set out on the cruise at four o'clock & return around nine. You get to snorkel in the Red Sea which was such an amazing experience! It was the highlight of my holiday. There's also a chance of seeing Dolphins which we did luckily. Then you can have some drinks & watch the sun set. There are lots of silly & fun games on board which made it a good laugh. Sailing at night is so relaxing! 100% recommend doing this cruise! We booked it in our hotel with Carlos who runs the cruise.

Soho square:
You can't go to sharm without going to soho we went down on two different nights. It was beautiful. As it was only built in the last few years everything is very modern.
It is the most expensive place in sharm but it is definitely worth the visit. There is literally everything you can think of in the square. Ice skating, a cinema, an ice bar , an oxygen bar, bowling, a singing fountain, loads of shops, nightclubs & restaurants.

Naama Bay
Another place to go to is naama bay its kind of like the moore street of Egypt. It is just lots of little nicky nacky gift shops. There are far more restaurants here & lots of fast food places like McDonalds & KFC. Lots of night clubs again, you would definitely spend a whole night there.

That pretty much it, unfortunately the pyramids where out of bonds as a bomb attack happened while we were there which I was gutted over as I always wanted to see them. I would 100% recommend Egypt as a holiday its such a beautiful place with lots to do.

Lots of Love Jessica x
