January favorites 2016.

January has been a good months for favourites. I got lots of new beauty products to try out but these next few products have really stood out as special for me.

Jaclyn Hill/Becca Cosmetics- Champagne pop.
I couldn't really have a favourites post without mentioning this beauty. I have been a huge fan of Jaclyn hill so long. I always trust her beauty tips & end up loving them, so when she announced her collaboration with Becca on this highlighter. I was desperate to get my hands on it. Unfortunately, Sephora is the only place which stocked it & they didn't deliver to Ireland. Yes alot of people when with the parcel motel route but things like that just confuse me so I just took that I would never have my highlight that fleeky... Until Cult Beauty got it in stock. Well thank the gods of highlight! I Finally got my hands on it. I have never been so excited for a package in my life.

Well does it live up to its hype?.. simply yes.
It is so finely milled that it just gives the most beautiful finish on the skin while still giving an intense glow. It is such a beautiful golden champagne colour. I couldn't have dreamt of a better colour for my skin tone if I tried. This highlight feels as though it has been made just for me!

It is definitely my favourite highlight that I own now don't think I've forgotten about my other baby (the mary-lou manizer) I still have so much love for that, but its slightly less golden then the champagne pop which I like to change between but they do slightly remind me of each other. If you fail to get your hands on Champagne pop I would highly recommend the Mary-lou as you know I love both equally.
PRICE: 42 euro

Fuchsia Contour Pallet:

I have been loving this contour pallet it reminds me so much of the Anastasia Beverly hills contour pallet in medium. My friend has the Anastasia pallet and we have compared and they are so similar expect for the Banana shade which is lighter in the fuchsia pallet then in the Anastasia pallet. Which is much better in my opinion for Irish skin tones as its not as yellow.

I love this pallet, I have been using it in college constantly.

Price: 35 euro

 Makeup Geek- Romance blush:
I have been loving this blush the past four months but felt it only necessary to mention it. I never wore blush before but this has honestly converted me. It is a peachy colour with a gorgeous gold shimmer. The shimmer is so fine it just gives a beautiful glow to the skin. I think this blush would be so gorgeous for summer but still prefect for this time of the year as I just want nothing more than to have a summer glow all year long. I apply a highlight over this blush, but for more mature skins or people who don't want that intense highlight  this would be prefect to still achieve a gorgeous glow without it being too in your face.
PRICE: 10 euro.

Plum lip liner:

I am in love with this lipliner. Im a nude lip addict, but this is just such a gorgeous plum/mauve shade its such a hard colour to describe but its just beautiful. I love wearing this colour now for night time as its still board line nude but more intense. Everyone just needs this liner. I've been addicted the last month. I sometimes pair this with a nude lip colour in the middle like blankety from Mac which is a nude with a pink under tone.
PRICE: 17.50 euro.

My Makeup Geek collection: Eye shadows, Foiled shadows & blushes.

Makeup geek is an American based company. Founded by the beauty Guru Marlena AKA  'Makeup Geek Tv' on social media. She really knew what she was doing when formulating these amazing shadows & for such an affordable price. It is ridiculous how cheap they are for such high quality. They are literally as good as MAC eye shadows, if not better. I am spoiled with these shadows and can barely use anything else after using these. They are my favourite eyeshadows ever!

I ordered all of my eyeshadows off the actually makeup geek website, with the irrational fear of the custom charges. Lucky for all us makeup lovers 'Beauty bay' are now stocking makeup geek! The make up gods are looking down on us.
This is such an amazing thing (although bad for our bank accounts) beauty bay have free delivery for orders over 21 euro. So now we have no excuse not too have these amazing shadows.

The shadows come in the individual pan so I would advise you to invest in a Z pallet ether from Ebay or from the 'MUG' website itself or beauty bay, which is what I did and it worked out at about €19. I have 15 eyeshadow now & I know that wont be where my collection stops.

SO ONTO THE SHADOWS....
Cocoa Bear:

One of the most popular shades among many youtube & bloggers its a cult favourite & I can see why. Everyone needs this prefect dark red brown in their collection. Its warm matte red tone brown sooo easy to blend out its insane, this colour is so versatile to suit lots of skin tones, eye colours & different looks.

Corrupt:

Corrupt is another staple for everyones makeup bag. Black eyeshadow would never really catch my attention I felt black is black & any brand will do. Until I found this one it is so freakin black & pigmented. It again is a matte shade, I love it but there can tend to be some slight fall out with this colour so just be careful when applying, or even do your eyes first & you'll be fine. It does have a slightly different texture then the other shadows they seem more creamier than this one.

Barcelona Beach:

This is a cool tone brown/grey colour, I call a greige. It is a really unusual colour which is actually gorgeous used with warm & cool toned colours which makes it a really fun colour to play around & experiment with. Its not a shade I reach for everyday but it such a great colour to use when I want to go for something a little different.

Deserts sands:

This colour reminded me instantly of 'Uninterrupted' by Mac which is a prolong wear eyeshadow which is expensive lets be honest as much as I love it. This is very similar to it they both have beautiful carmel tones, but uninterrupted is slightly darker than desert sands. Uninterrupted is now disconintued in mac, so if you never got a chance to get it this colour is a dupe for it.

Peach smoothie:
Peach smoothie is one of my most used eyeshadow not just in makeup geek but in general. It already has a dint in it & I dont even have it over six months! This is the most prefect transition colour for my skin tone it just helps me to blend out any look I am doing. Its a shadow I always start with in my crease which makes all the shadows after just blend so seamlessly. It is a matte peachy beige shade it isn't as pigmented as the rest but in a good way because it makes the prefect transition for other shadows. It is very similar to MAC 'Samoa silk' eyeshadow. This is love for me & a colour I couldn't live without.

Creme Brulee:

This shadow is another great transition colour sometime I will even mix both peach smoothie & creme brulee together for a transition colour or on their own just for a really natural eye look with some dimension. It is a lovely soft warm brown  which I use all the time.

FrappĂ©:

This is such a gorgeous shadow. I love it & use it all the time. It is really similar to Cocoa bear but much lighter. It is a gorgeous warm red toned brown. Another must have.

Bitten:
This is a gorgeous Burgundy shade! There is so many uses for this gorgeous colour you could use it in the crease, outer corner or just all over the lid its a must have!

Cupcake

Cupcake and bitten go hand in hand. This is a beautiful light pink had which is gorgeous as a transition for bitten or any pink/purple eyeshadow.

Mocha
This is just a prefect brown shade. Its not too warm or too cool. It has no red or purple undertones to it. Its just a through brown. I use this eyeshadow all the time.

Chickadee:

Is a gorgeous bright orange colour with a hint of yellow. Alot of people would have there reservations about this product because it looks very in your face. But adding this colour can really change up a look making it really warm. Its a great colour to have in your pallet & a lovely transition colour.

Shimma Shimma:

This is a dupe for MAC cosmetics shroom eyeshadow. Its a gorgeous frosty highlight prefect for inner corner highlighting & brow bone highlighting. I feel everyone needs this one in their collection it will last forever as its so pigmented and you only need a tiny amount.

Foiled Eye shadows

They foiled shadows are a little bit dearer than their regular eyeshadows they are $9.99 so like ten euro I think?
But believe me they are worth every scent if not more, I would pay like €15 for these..but I am glad I don't have to.
If your going to try anything from the 'Makeup Geek' brand it has got to be these babies. They will seriously not disappoint you I promise. They are all a must for me to be honest they are amazing. But I would advice to use a eye shadow primer to stop these from creasing.

I recommend applying these shadows using like a flat synthetic brush. I use the MAC 242 brush to apply these.

Grandstand:
This is one of the most pigmented of them all in my opinion the colour is just soo beautiful such a gorgeous bronze colour prefect for night or day for glam neutral eye look.

Houdini:

Houdini in the packaging looks like it would be an emerald colour, but its is is more a turquoise blue colour. It is such a gorgeous colour which I think would be beautiful with like brown eyes to really make them pop. But this colour is really gorgeous on everyone. I am so obsessed with how pretty it is. It is definitely not a colour for everyone but I just love it.

In the Spotlight:

In the spotlight is one of my favorite eye shadows of all time it is such a beautiful colour which I find so easy to wear for an everyday glam eye, It is so bright it makes your eyes just stand out & look so big & bright. I also love to use this colour as my face highlight its such a beautiful champagne bright & fresh colour. When using it as a face highlight a little goes a longgg way it is such a glowly highlight I just love it! It has such a creamy feel it just looks flawless on the skin.

SWATCHES

Makeup Geek Blushes

I only have two blushes from makeup geek as I'm not really a blush person. But these blushes have converted me. The blushes are €9.99 for the ones to pop into your Z pallet.

Romance:

Is a dupe for NARS orgasm blush. It is so subtle on the checks giving a gorgeous golden glow with a wash of a peachy pink flush. Its my favorite blush I own.

Summer Fling:

This colour is very pigmented a little bit goes along way. Its a gorgeous peachy shade which is matte but gives the skin just a beautiful warm glow.

Theres so many more makeup geek eyeshadows which I've my eye on from beauty bay, this isn't the end of my collection! I cant recommend them enough.
