Natural beauty tips. Coconut oil uses & benefits.

The uses & benefits of coconut oil is never ending.

I never thought that one tub of any product could be used in so many different ways. If you where ever to take my advice & go out to buy a product I mention It NEEDS to be this one.

This product is so affordable & will work its hardest for you in all aspects of your life.

USES & BENEFITS OF COCONUT OIL
Teeth whiting/ Oil pulling:

Oil pulling is the new craze these days.
I have always wanted to whiten my teeth but I'm fearful of the harmful chemicals which most teeth whiteners contain. Oil pulling is the most natural way to remove stains & dirt from the teeth.

All you have to do is use less than a tea spoon full of coconut oil swish it around your mouth for as long as you can bare it. They say you should start at five minutes and work your way up to twenty minutes.

Doing this on a empty stomach gives the best results as it detoxes the body also. It is also great for people who tend to have oiler skins, the oil helps the body to stop the production of excess oil because it tricks the body into thinking it already has to much oil.

Coco white, is a brand who has taken the celebrity world by storm using this technique with three different flavours. It a bit pricey for something you can get just straight out of a tub.
Heres the link incase you would rather the no fuss method.

Moisturiser:
Everytime I get out of the shower I slather myself in Coconut oil. A little goes such a long way, first off it feels very oily on the but it sinks into the skin so fast leaving you feeling lovely & hydrated. The goodness of the coconut oil get absorbed through your skin. I use this on my face & body. Coconut oil works as a natural UV filter so its protects your skin from harmful sun rays.

Eye Cream:
I melted down my coconut oil in the microwave & broke up two vitamin E capsules & one evening primrose oil capsule. Mixed it together & let it cool & harden. Prefect Eye cream the coconut oil is soothing & sensitive for the eye area, coconut oil already natural contains vitamin E but who can never have to much as it helps to replenish the skin.

Growth encouraging oil for eyebrow & lashes.

Use a spool a comb through both lashes & brows to condition & strength them. I have definitely seen an improvement in my brows from doing this for the past month.

Dry scalp:
Leaving coconut oil on over night as a scalp treatment, helps to lift & flaky dead skin from the scalp & moisturisers the scalp to prevent further dry scalp.

Hair Treatment:
Coconut oil is high in Lauric acid which provides the hair with protein. Building up the strength & condition in your hair. Leave it in for as long as you want before washing the hair concentrating on  the ends mainly then wash it out and shampoo as normal.

Prevents stretch marks during pregnancy.
When your pregnant people always say 'if you couldn't eat it, you shouldn't put it on your skin'
I personally don't know how true that is, but I do know a lot of mothers are very cautious with the products the use on themselves while pregnant. Coconut oil is a completely safe way to prevent any stretch marks especially if your adding in some extra vitamin E. It is also a great way for anyone to help soothe any stretch marks or scars you may already have.

Makeup remover.

Use as if it is a cold cream, rub it straight onto your make-up covered face and rub into all areas including eyes. Then just remove with warm water, or a cotton pad with some toner on it.

Coconut oil is also amazing for cooking & baking. Swapping coconut oil for regular oil is ideal.

Hope you enjoyed this natural beauty tips post.

Let me know if you tried them out.

My prefect sun holiday make up bag.

So, lets be real no one wants to wear a full face of make-up on a sun holiday. Day time for me, is all about getting a tan while laying around the pool/beach. It is the only time of the year when make up isn't on my mind 24/7! During the day if anything I will just use a brow gel on my brows & some lip balm preferably one with a factor.

At night for me, its all about making the most of my holiday sunkissed skin. So I am all about very sheer coverage foundation cream bronzers & highlighters. I always love having individual lashes luckily enough ill have my semi permanent lashes on this year from the gorgeous Val at fabulosity on dame street.

This blog post is just a run through of all my sun holiday beauty essentials.

Millon dollar moisturiser-Lush cosmetics.

This is a must have for me over everything else I would bring. It is everything anyone would need for their sun adventures. It gives the skin a flawless glowing complexion while hydrating & protecting your skin against harmful UVA & UVB rays, with beautiful rich honey, sesame oil & spf 30. I would wear this everyday with nothing else on my face it is a great alternative than slapping on heavy pore clogging sun factor. Day or evening time this is prefect but obviously with the high SPF day time is the most ideal time to wear it.

PRICE: €42.00

Oh baby highlighter-Push Makeup.

On holiday in the evenings, I just love to make the most of my sun kissed glow. I hate my makeup to look or feel heavy, I feel cream products give the most natural & effective dewy makeup look for this. The push 'oh baby' highlighter is just beautiful, it is actually a cream eyeshadow but I love using it as my check bone highlight it has gorgeous pink undertones to it. Usually pink highlights can look very pale on my sallow skin but this colour is just so universal & gorgeous on fair to dark skin tones. I promise you'll love this highlight! I just use my fingers to tap this onto the skin.

You can get it in any K2 salon, there is one in Cabra & one in Glasnevin or you can order it online at push-makeup.com

PRICE: €12.00

Nuxe DD cream.

Again this is a prefect one for the evening, it is sheer coverage but still hides any blemishes or redness on the skin. It just looks like your skin, but better! This comes in three shades light, medium & dark. I personally use the medium shade it gives the skin a beautiful warm tan. It blends on the skin prefectly, honestly the best BB/CC type cream I have ever used. I got a sample from cloud ten beauty & it lasted me ages.

It would also be a great one to use the DD cream during the day if your a little bit shy of braving a bare face as it is really hydrating & it has SPF 30 plus it feels like your wearing nothing at all on the skin.

PRICE:
Marks & spencers  €29
 cloud10beauty.com €25.

L'oreal Lumi Magique

My all time favourite foundation from the drug store, is the amazing L'oreal lumi! Unfortunately it only comes in like five shades. I use the shade W5 which would suit an NC35 in Mac foundation.

This is a real light weight foundation which gives prefect summer skin!

Price: €16.99

Makeup Studio Face it Contour Pallet.

I have talked about this before on my blog, I just adore this pallet. My two go to colours have to be the shade No.5 & Banana! The banana is my favourite under eye brightening concealer as the name suggests its a yellow toned concealer. On clients who may have darker under circles than I would I always use that light rose shade as it brightens up the undereye prefectly. I use my domed kabuki brush to bronze up my face with No.5 its just so gorgeous & easy to blend out. You can buy this shades separately so even grab two shades you love & pop them into a Z pallet. Too make it easier to travel with thats what I will be doing. But seriously this is one my most favourited makeup item that I own, I cant do my makeup without it.

Some people think cream bronzing/contouring is much heavier but it really doesn't have to be, I find this pallet gives me a much more natural & flawless finish than powders. Its my must have!!

PRICE:
pallet:€50
single shades: €15

Give me sun-MAC

This is the prefect bronzing powder for the summer, although if you are on the paler side this bronzer may look a little orangey so just try it out before buying. Even though I said I love to use cream products for a holiday look. I love to use this to warm up my face/contour. I also love love love this on its own as an eye shadow in the crease blended out so less hassle bring along lots of eyeshadows with you . As a powder it isn't drying at all on the skin it gives a beautiful natural finish on the skin.

Lashes/Mascara.
I have my semi permanent lashes which I'm addicted too, I would highly recommend getting them done for holidays they make looking glam so much easier you don't have to do anything.

Other than that I love my Benefit they're real mascara plus its water proof so great for holidays! If I hadn't gotten my lashes done I would definitely be taking that with me.

Anastasia Beverly hills dipbrow / Rimmel brow gel

I can't go any where with out my brows been done! Is that sad?? I adore my Dipbrow & couldn't be without it I use 'Medium brown' , If you feel the dip brow is a bit to high maintenance a nice colour brow gel is a quick and easy way to get perfectly groomed brows. I use the Rimmel one in the darker shade, but any one will do really.

Sleek Lip polishes SPF 15.

These lip polishes smell just like Cocoa butter its gorgeous, they are so hydrating on the lips & give the lips a gorgeous wash of colour. Plus they have a SPF 15 which people forget how important it is to protect their lips! working in a chemist I could tell you lots of horror stories of people coming into me with brunt & blistered lips.

I have two of these little beauties, a pink nude colour and then a more deep pink colour 'pink

LIPSTICKS & LINERS

For evening time I like to keep my eyes very simple but a bold lip is gorgeous with a natural looking makeup look. I love reds & oranges for bold summer lips, & for some more subtlety I love a peachy nude. (sorry they are all MAC, slight obsession)

Lasting sensation lipliner- MAC

Is a beautiful bright coral colour, I just loveeee it for summer!

So Chaud-MAC

I love this lipstick its so vibrant & summery, it is a beautiful matte Orange with red undertones.

Ruby Woo-MAC

Ruby woo is a blue based matte red lipstick which is going to make your choppers whiter than white. It is a prefect universal classic red. I love a red lip with a tan!

Peach blossom -MAC

This is a cremesheen lipstick one of my favorite mac finishes as it is lovely and hydrating & glossy but you will have to top it up. I love the colour of this lipstick it is the prefect summer nude its a gorgeous peachy pink colour! It is a prefect one to theme with your favourite nude lipliner. I love it with Boldy Bare lipliner also from MAC.
